Napoli

This week after beating derby rivals Ac Milan 3-2 Inter would travel to San Paolo to face first place Napoli. The last time these two faced off Napoli beat Inter 1-0. This season so far Napoli have been undefeated this season and would look to add to their lead as title front runners as Inter would look to prove they can be real contenders this season and show that they can run with the big dogs. In the first half both of these teams would hold each other to a complete deadlock as both teams would defend very well and create many goal opportunities between both these sides. In the second half both teams would look to score and break the stand still and try to get some offense going. But these squads would continue to defend and perform very well which would see these top two squads end the match with a very much deserved draw would come away with a much needed point.

This week we would stick with the so far successful 4-2-3-1 formation but would see some player and position changes from the previous week. In goal would have our star keeper Handanovic. On defense in the back would see our usual cast of charecters. We would have left back Nagatomo, left center back Miranda, right center back and this seasons signing Milan Skriner and topping them off our right back and top defender D’Ambrosio. Up in the defensive mid feild we would have Gagliardini replacing Vecino so he could move next to him on the right. Up in the attacking midfeild we would have left winger Ivan Persic, in the center mid we would have Valero replacing Vecino and Candereva on the right wing. Up front would be Inter scoring beast Icardi who would get his 9th goal of the season has he would complete a stunning hatrick in last weeks match vs Ac Milan.
After the players would take their positions on the pitch this match would get underway. Napoli would look to strike first when in the 5th minute Hamsik would take a right footed shot from outside the box misses to the left which would be assisted by by Lorenzo. Five minutes later Inter Gagliradini would look to put Inter on the board with a right footed shot from outside the box is blocked. In the 11th minute D’Ambrosio takes a left footed shot from outside the box is high and to the left following a corner. A few minutes would pass but in the 16th minute Insigne takes a right footed shot from the left of the box misses to the right which is assisted by Hamsik. In the 20th minute Callejon does a right footed shot from the right side of the box is saved in the bottom right corner. A few seconds later Mertens rebounds and takes a right footed shot from the right of the box is saved in the center of the goal. A minute later Icardi takes a right footed shot from outside the box is blocked. In the 26th minute Persic takes a header from the center of the box is high and to the right assisted by Candereva with a cross. Nine minutes later in the 35th minute Insigne takes a headerfrom the center of the box is saved in the center of the goal. In the 38th minute Koulibaly does a left footed shot from a difficult angle on the left misses to the right. In the 40th minute takes a right footed shot from the right side of the box is saved in the top right corner which is assisted by Vecino. Inter would have one last chance to score in the 41st minute Valero would take a right footed shot from the right side of the box is saved in the top right corner which is assisted by Persic with a headed pass. This would conclude a jam packed first half with both teams at 0-0. If Inter can maintain their defense and create goal oppurtunities we can possibily get a draw.
After the break the players would resume their positions on the pitch. Entering into the half would see both squads be equal to each other as both are tied 0-0. Two minutes into the half in the 47th minute would see Vecino take a right footed shot from a very difficult angle on the right misses just slightly to the left which would be passed by Icardi. In the 55th minute Hamsik attempts a right footed shot from outside of the box is close but misses to the left with Jose providing a header pass. Three minutes later Candreva takes a right footed shot from a hard position on the right hand side misses to the right which would be passed by D’Ambrosio. In the 61st minute Nagatomo does a right footed shot from outside the box misses to the left following a corner. A few minutes later Insigne sets up a right foot shot fro the left side of the box goes to high and to the left. In the 67th minute Mertens takes a left fot shot from the center of the box is blocked which would be assisted by Jose. In the 71st minute Inter makes their first substitution of the match has Mario would take over for Velero. In the 75th minute Insigne would yet again try and put one of these teams on the board with a right foot shot from outside the box is close but misses slightly to the right. Two minutes later it would be Inters turn to try and break the deadlock as Mario takes a right footed shot from outside the box misses to the left which would be assisted by Gagliardini. In the 83rd minute Inter Cancelo would replace Candereva on the pitch. In the 84th minute with 6 minutes left in regular time would see Piotr takes a left footed shot from outside the box is saved in the bottom right corner by Handanovic. In the 87th minute Inter would make their final substitution as Eder replaces Icardi. It would be at this point a game of keep away at point as this match would end in a draw as both teams would come away with a much needed point.

This match was a well deserved point for Inter as they now proved they can be real contenders for the title this year. Now we are seeing much improvement in our squad vs this time last year. Now we see everyone working together and doing what it takes to get the best possible result. I’m happy that we’re opening more goal oopertunities and the defense doing their job way better than last season because at this point last year Inter were facing possible relegation as they were on a dowanward spirial to that point. Now we’re second in the league and sitting in a Champions League spot. My man of the match would be the whole Inter defense as they did a great job trying to keep the ball away from our own goal and making sure the oppostition didn’t have a chance to score. In our next match we travel back home as we take on 5th place Sampdoria. This is going to be a exciting match because even tho Sampdoria sit in 5th they’re still a solid squad and could give Inter a run for their money. I’m excited to see who’ll come out on top untilthen as always FORZA INTER.
