Score: Inter 5 Cheivo 0FT

FC Internazionale v AC ChievoVerona - Serie A

San Siro, Milan
After keeping their undefeated streak alive Inter would welcome visitors 12th place Cheivo. Inter look to keep their undefeated streak alive as Cheivo look to move up the table. Inter would dominate majority of matches won vs Cheivo with them winning 67% of the matches. Some of the things need to keep in check when playing Cheivo is keeping their goal chances limited and making sure they don’t get any chances to score. They also need to keep the middle covered as Cheivo are good at attacking the middle. In the first half Inter would dominate the possession game and keeping up the attack on Cheivo. Inter would see goals from the scoring beast Icardi and Ivan Persic. At the end of the half Inter would have a 2-0 lead over their opponents. In the second half Inter would keep up their momentum and attack on Cheivo and they would score three more goal seen from Persic and Milan Skriner. This would give Inter their 12th victory of the season has they would thrash Cheivo 5-0.
Inter would stick with same all to familiar 4-2-3-1 formation but would see some player and position switches from the previous matches. In goal would be none other than Samir Handanovic. On defense would be left back Santon who would get his third start of the season. On left center back would be Ranocchia who would get his first start of the season after being on loan to Hull City last campaign . Next to him would be right center back Milan Skriner and capping them off D’Ambrosio. On defensive mid would be Valero who would move to the left when he normally plays on the right side and taking Valero’s usual position would be Mario who would get his first start of the season himself. On attacking midfield would be secondary goal scorer left winger Ivan Persic next to him center mid Brozovic who would get his next start since the Benevento match back on October 1st. Then on right wing none other than Candreva. Up top would be striker and the Inter scoring beast Mauro Icardi who is second in lead goal scoring to Ciro Immobile of Lazio. This is a solid lineup who is more than capable of beating Cheivo.
After the players took the pitch this match would get underway. Inter would look to draw first blood early when a few seconds in Persic takes a right footed shot from the left of the box is blocked with a assist by Mario. A minute later Ranocchia would look to get his first goal of the season with a header from the center of the box goes to high after a cross from Candreva. A few minutes later after the 10 minute mark Santon takes a right footed shot from outside the box is close but misses to the right which would be his first attempt to get his first goal of the season as well. Cheivo would try and break the deadlock as Riccardo takes a header from the center of the box is saved in the center of the goal by Handanovic. With under 30 minutes to play in the first half Andrea takes a header from the left side of the six yard box is close but misses after a cross from Brozovic. In the 23rd minute Persic takes a right footed shot from the center of the box to the upper center of the goal which puts Inter up 1-0. Minutes later Mario takes a right footed shot from the center of the box is saved in the lower left corner of the goal assisted by Icardi. Cheivo would look to even things up when Fabrizio takes a left footed shot from a difficult position and from far away on the right is saved in the center of the goal. In the 38th minute Inter would add to their lead as Icardi’s right foot shot from the right of the box to the lower left corner assisted by Brozovic which would give Inter the 2-0 lead. Cheivo a few minutes later would still try and put themselves on the board when Birsa does a left foot shot from outside the is saved in the top left corner. In the 45th minute Inter would have one last chance to add to their lead has Candreva takes a right footed shot from the right of the box goes to high assisted by Valero. The half would end Inter up 2-0 and if they can maintain their attack and momentum this match is theirs for the taking.
After the break Inter would go into the second half dominating the possession game and the lead. They would look to add to that lead and destroy Cheivo while they would look to get some sort of momentum going. Minutes into the second half Cheivo would look to get their first point of the match when Samuel takes a right footed shot from outside the box misses to the right. Two minutes later Inter would look to add to their lead as Brozovic takes a right foot shot from the right of the box is close but misses slightly to the left. At the 55 minute mark Mario does a right footed shot from the left of the box is blocked. Two minutes later in the 57th minute Persic adds to Inter’s lead when he takes a left footed shot from the left of the box to the bottom right corner which puts the Nerazzuris up 3-0. Minutes later in the 60th minute Milan Skriner takes a header from the center of the box to the bottom right corner with an assist from a cross by Candreva after a fast break. Near the 70 minute mark Santon takes a right footed shot from outside the box is to high after a corner. A few minutes later Cheivo would look to even get a consolation point when Roberto takes a header from the center of the box is saved in the top center of the goal after an assist from a cross from Fabio. In the 77th minute Inter make their first subbing of the match as Dalbert replaces D’Ambrosio. With only six minutes left to play Candreva takes a right footed shot from a difficult angle as the right is blocked. A minute later Inter makes their final substitution of the match Karamoh comes on for Candreva. In the final minute Inter would put the nail in the coffin as Persic takes a left foot shot from the center of the box to the lower right corner which gives Inter the 5-0 lead and the victory giving them their 12th win of the season.
This was a well deserved win for Inter has they remain the only team left unbeaten in Serie A. The Man of the match goes to Persic who would open up multiple opportunities during the match and would score three out the five goals during the game. This is showing that Inter can be contenders for the title this year but they still need to strengthen the areas mentioned in previous articles and get another decent striker in the January transfer window in case something happens to Icardi because without him Inter would be middle of the table every season. Next week Inter face a real challenge as they travel to Turin to take on third place Juventus and the last time these squads faced each other Juventus dominated the possession game and defeated Inter 1-0. The best they can hope for in this anticipated game is a draw because Juventus won’t play nicely as they’re an aggressive team and will put the pressure on Inter. This will be a fun match to watch regardless. As always FORZA INTER.
