Following their blow out win against Genoa Inter travel to Bergamo to take on Atalanta who sit tenth place. Atalanta is coming off a win of their own against Bologna. Inter has been on fire as of late only losing one match ever since their Tottenham match in the Champions League. Inter have won six out of five of their last five Serie A matches while Atalanta have three wins and two loses. Inter have won three out of their last six matches against Atalanta while they only have one win. This will be a tough match but lets see how these two side stack up.

Inter Milan

Player wise this is the strongest Inter as ever been. Inter have come a long way since last season. Mario which is a name that hasn’t been heard in quite awhile has been reborn. Mario is slowly starting to find himself again with two assist and scoring his first goal in quite sometime against Genoa last week. Gagliardini has stepped up in recent matches scoring two goals in their last match and has helped with assist and doing what is needed to help get the team victory. One player who as also stepped up is Epic Brozovic who as done well defending the ball along with scoring goals and helping pass the ball for assist. Also Radja has become a massive asset to the team as well scoring his first goal since coming back from injury. This is a team that is gelling very well and is becoming stronger who knows one day Inter may see another Scudetto. The key player in this match is Gagliardini who will not only help defend the ball he will also create chances he will assist players to get chances for them set up. If Atalanta don’t isolate him they can cause them issues.

Atalanta themselves are a strong and cohesive team who are capable of getting the job done. Zapata is a strong player who is one of their main goal chance takers. Also Gomez he is a threat in the attack along with Pessina and Ilicic they are great chances takers and assisters in their own right. On the defense side of things Hateboer is good at stealing the ball and making sure his side keeps the ball. Another player who does the same is Bettella this side isn’t afraid of doing what is needed to get those much needed three points. The key player in this match is Zapata who is their primary goal scorer and if given the room can give Inter a massive headache.

The bottom line

The bottom line will be if they can prevent Atalanta from getting any room to create chances. They can utilize the offside trap as they struggle from avoiding it. Inter will also need to make sure they maintain possession of the ball as Atalanta are strong at stealing the ball. So this means that Inter will defensive wise need to make sure they do a good job blocking them and keeping the ball on their side. Inter will also need to focus on creating chances of their own and following through with them and continue working as a cohesive unit. Based on history this is a match that Inter can win but Atalanta will not go down without a fight the worse Inter can get in this match is a draw but anything can happen as the teams near the midway point of the season.
