Inter vs Frosinone match day preview #87

After another international break which seems ther have been more of those this season than in recent ones Serie A returns with Inter taking on relegation side and recently promoted Frosinone. Inter are coming off a crushing loss against Atalanta a they lost to them in a 4-1 blood bath. While Frosinone is coming off a draw against Fiorentina. The last time these sides faced each other was back in 2016 after Frosinone came up from Serie B but only later that season to be relegated once again. When they faced each other back in the 2016 season Inter won the season sweep by defeating them twice. The current positions of these sides is Inter currently sit in Champions League contention as they sit in third while a mentioned Frosinone sit in the relegation zone in ninteenth place. This should be a one sided match but of course the match can go either way.

Inter Milan

Inter faced a huge loss against Atalanta hopefully they are able to shake this loss off and get back into winning form. Because Inter once they make a mistake majority of the time have a tendency to let one loss mess with them and they end up on a downward spiral but hopefully this doesn’t become the case. Besides the hiccup in the last match Inter are still a strong side. Politano has shown major improvements and helped secure the Italian side to a win over the USAMT in the final minutes of the match. Defensive wise this is the strongest it’s ever especially with the additions of Devrij and Asomah who has helped bring a winning mindset to the table and loan singing Vrsaljiko who is becoming a great addition on the position of right back. On the offensive aspect they have come along way from where they were last season struggling to finish chances and they also lacked depth which Radja and Politano have helped fill in. One player that will be out during this match is Brozovic who is out on suspension after getting a red card in their match against Atlanta. The key player in this match will be Icardi who is one of the most clinical strikers out there and is a beast at finishing chances and doing what is needed to get the job done and if Frosinone don’t isolate him he will run circles around them.

On Frosinone they have a laundry list of injured and suspended players. Out with injury are Dionisi, Luca, Emil, and Ciano and suspended Paolo. Frosinone are three points away from escaping the relegation zone and will do everything they can to escape it. This will be a tough match as they take on a strong Inter side and in their territory as well. The key player in this match will be forward Pinamonti as he is a loan signee from Inter where he already knows the club he will create scoring chances and since he knows Inter so he can use it to their advantage. If they don’t keep him isolated he can cause Inter issues.

The Bottom Line

This match will be if Frosinone can shut down Inter’s offense and prevent them from taking chances as that is one of their strengths. Frosinone will struggle to maintain possession of the ball which will work in Inter’s favor as they play possession style football. Frosinone can utilize the offside trap to counter act and prevent some of Inter’s scoring chances. Defensive wise Frosinone will struggle all around to defend the ball and keep possession of the ball from Inter. This match should be a easy win for Inter especially as they’re playing at home. But of course anything can happen depending how the teams are doing that day.
