Inter vs Udinese match day preview #96

Following a loss against Juventus and a draw against PSV which eliminated them from the Champions League Inter welcome bottom five team Udinese. Udinese are coming off a loss to Atalanta. Inter have been struggling in recent weeks with form and tactics which will be talked about later in this article. The last time Inter faced Udinese they split the season series as Udinese beat Inter in the first match against them the second match Inter was the one who reigned victorious. Overall Inter have won five out of their last six matches against Udinese. Inter are a great team at home but it’s December and during this time of year they go on a winless streak regardless of the location they play. Hopefully they shake this loss off and get back into winning form or this will be a long month.

Inter Milan

Overall the players have been performing very well with the exception of Candreva who has been struggling all season. The players who are on the squad who are injured is Dalbert and the ninja Radja and it is unsure of when they’ll return. On the offensive side of the spectrum the team is doing a great job creating chances despite finishing them. Politano and Keita have really stepped up in this area not just creating chances but assisting the team with chances of their own. Icardi is having a hard time creating chances because of the formation Inter has been using which is hard for him to get anything going. Defense wise they need to tighten things up because as of late they have had way to many gaps which have allowed the opposition to score which has caused the team crucial points. The key player in this match will be Skriniar who has helped the defense and will do what is needed to get the job done and has been the more consistent defensive player on the team.

On the injured list of Udinese is Badu, Barak, Samir, Lukasz and Svante. Udinese have had a hard time this season they normally sit in the middle of the table but they currently sit in the bottom five teams which is uncharacteristic of them. Offensive wise they have struggled to create chances and finish them but when they do score they do it they make it look effortless. On the defensive side they struggle to keep the ball away from their opponents and stopping their opponents from creating chances of their own. The key player for them will be DePaul who is a great defender and will try to keep his side in this tough match.

The Bottom Line

The bottom line will be if Inter can shake off these past results and focus on the match at hand. Tactically they need to go back to the 4-2-3-1 formation and stick with it because the constant experimenting is costing them valuable points. They will also need to get back on track with finishing scoring chances and defense wise they’ll need to retighten their grip on the opposing side. Also they need to shake off these past results and get back into winning form or else the December curse may be upon the team. Udinese will need to everything in their power to stop Inter from creating scoring chances and or else they’ll be screwed. This match should be a easy win but with how things are going a draw wouldn’t be out of the question. But hopefully Inter get those much needed three points.
